When we decided to read and discuss the novel Twelve by Nick McDonell we wanted to choose a different approach which was not mainly based on textwork in class. We soon found out that there has not been published anything about the novel apart from a few book reviews. So we decided to do a web project on Twelve which might be of some help for future students dealing with the novel.

Before distributing the tasks we made a list of topics we would like to deal with and agreed on the following: plot summaries, a list of the characters and various themes which are treated in the book. Next, we worked on our specific topic for about three weeks. Finally, we read the articles of our classmates and appreciated their work.

It was not always easy to find out what message or messages Nick McDonell wanted  to put across but most of our group liked the novel and the way it is written.
